This is not just a run.

This is not just an obstacle course.

This is a test of grit.

Looking for a challenge? Well, you’ve come to the right place. To be successful in the Intrepid Race, you don’t have to be fast and you don’t have to be strong. You just have to be willing to take bold action and to endure when the going gets tough.

Challenges

The Intrepid Race was started by a competitor on American Ninja Warrior and a veteran of some of the toughest endurance races on the planet. It combines elements of obstacle course and adventure races with Ninja Warrior-like challenges to create a new type of event that will test you mentally and physically.

You can expect to run, crawl, climb, jump, carry, drag, slide, balance and problem-solve during dozens of man-made and natural challenges designed with only one mission: to give you an opportunity to test your limits.

Three Levels of Challenges

Most challenges will offer up to 3 different levels of difficulty. You get to choose the one that fits you best.

Competitive

You are the athlete who looks for new ways to become more each and every day

Hero

You embody the boldness, strength and agility of Achilles

Extreme

You are going big or going home

Intrepid Kids Adventure

Your young adventurers (ages 6-13) can get in on the action too!

A fun one-mile course with over a dozen challenges will have them jumping, running, climbing and having a great time. Parents may join their children on the course to offer assistance and encouragement. No additional registration is required for the parent.

Afterwards, they can keep the good times rolling with games and great food designed just for them.

FAQ

Will everyone have to complete the same challenges?

No. Most challenges will present you with up to three levels: Competitive/Hero/Extreme. You get to choose which you want to take on at each station.

What happens if I complete an Extreme challenge?

Then you truly are intrepid! To recognize your accomplishment, you will receive a stamp on your arm, which will entitle you to an extra shot at the archery target. It will not be easy, and you will want the extra shots.

What if I am unable to complete a challenge?

After giving it your very best shot, you’ll have the option to perform a penalty exercise, which will vary based on the challenge.

Can we help each other on the course?

Absolutely! We are all in this together. So, bring a friend or a training partner, because teamwork is highly encouraged. For the kids, parents are welcome to participate with their child and to offer any assistance needed.

Will the course be muddy?

That all depends on Mother Nature. This is a wilderness challenge, and, if the natural conditions are muddy, there will be mud on the course. There will be no specific mud challenges (mud pits, etc), though.

What should I wear?

Since you will be running, climbing, jumping and crawling in a wilderness environment, you will want to wear clothing that allows you to move freely and that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Most people wear shorts, short-sleeve tops and trail running shoes, but you might want to consider clothing that protects your legs from scrapes and rope burns.
